  9:30 -- 10:00 Introductory discussion. Topics:

  • - Different interpretations and uses of “ecology” in HCI
  • - Why are ecological perspectives popular in HCI research?
  • - Main challenges of applying the ecological concepts in HCI

10:00-10:30: Presentation of position papers 1-2 (TBD)

10:30 – 11:00 break

11:00 – 12:30 Presentation of position papers 3-8 (TBD)

12:30 – 13:30 lunch break

13:30 – 15:00 Discussion of concrete research issues: Topics:

15:30 – 16:45 Discussion of the "big picture" and prospects for future research. Topics:

  • - Frameworks, models, and methods for studying ecologies
  • - The implications of the shift of focus of HCI toward ecologies for design research and practice.
